Like looking at alabama they threw all the money they had to go after saban and that is what smu needs to do if we want a good coach like bowden or applewhite whoever. Money is what will bring a big name coach here and im pretty sure this school should be one to do it

If you've seen Terry Bowden lately, it's clear that he likes all kinds of burgers (but not cheer or any other detergent, especially Tide).

He is already using the restricted secret tunnel from the Meadows garage into Ford Stadium offices.

Excuse me, I really don't think SMU should be hiring a 29 year old Major Applewhite to be head coach. We don't need another head coach learning on the job. We need someone ready to step in on day one and be a head coach.

Someone should e-mail him the link to the Burger Wars thread on PF.com

- Amen. No more OJT.
I think Spurrier took that dog of a SC program for the same reason.

You know what? Learning to be a head coach was the stupidest excuse ever put forth as a defense of Bennett. It was just dumb. I admit 29 is real young, maybe too young, but on the job training is not something I am worried about.

From the Sporting news rumor mill:
If he isn't brought down by the struggles of Notre Dame's offense, coordinator Mike Haywood looks like a great fit at SMU. Haywood is a 1986 ND grad. SMU A.D. Steve Orsini also is an Irish alum. And Haywood is a Texas native with extensive recruiting ties to the state. Plus, he also was an assistant at Texas and LSU. Haywood, in his third year running Charlie Weis' attack, interviewed with a few schools last year and got a long look from Minnesota.
Speaking of SMU, don't discount someone like Terry Bowden getting a long look in Highland Park.
