But I dont get why they putting it on top of the old one either...?
My guess would be so they can take it off when they have graduation and other non athletic functions in moody

I seriously doubt that they are going to be dismantling and then reassymbling that floor for various functions. My guess is that there was no need to remove the old floor so why waste the money.

Not to mention it will bring the huge scoreboard 2" closer to the floor. Will they still be able to play volleyball after this?

The three point line keeps moving from season to season...or so it seems. They will just paint (tape) it on when they find out where it goes this season.

Isn't this the first year of the new 3-point line being moved back to like 20'6'' or something like that? Maybe they wanted to lay the floor and then get paint the arc.
Just guessing.

I would bet it's nothing more than saving the cost of tearing up the old one.
But again, that's just a guess.

I did notice in the CSTV pics that the new floor does not extend all the way to the end of the Moody floor. Thus for practices (until Crum is finished) wouldn't they need to go sideways and aren't the side baskets now an inch or two too low? I wouldn't want to see our players laying bricks all year because they were shooting at baskets which were slightly off. Perhaps, they will be pulling up the floor and laying it for games, like they do in the NBA/NHL arenas.

The pictures I saw showed the floor going all the way to the beachers in the "end zone".

The baskets can be adjusted. No one is going to be picking up the floor and relaying it for any reason...we don't have an ice rink. The obvious reason they manufactured and prefinished the floor offsite was to keep from having to shut down Moody for weeks to install and finish a new floor on site. Leaving the old floor intact saved down time and money.
