That's just silly. If we can find someone like Doherty, it's a great hire. Being a good coach is more important than being a "Dallas guy."

the reason doherty stands a good chance of success is that he is a very good salesman. the head coach must sell his program to recruits, the media, the smu community, the dallas football fans, etc. doesn't really matter where he comes from. and there are a lot more x and o guys to coach on the field than there are great salesmen, although even they have to be able to sell their players on what they are doing.

if this guy fedora is a great salesman, he's a candidate for he job. if not, he's a great oc. and nothing wrong with that.

couldn't agree more, just suggesting put him on the list to at least talk to if he is that well thought of and has some Texas/Dallas connections.

like I said before, I don't care if coach if from the moon, is blue, red, or green, just as long as he can coach and move us in right direction.

UT found an Oklahoma guy named Darrell Royal. OU found an Arkansas guy named Barry Switzer. Oklahoma St. found a Texas/Arkansas guy in Jimmy Johnson. Last time I checked they did alright.

I'm the anti-english major. An engineering major. Your spelling, or lack thereof, still makes me throw up.
