My expectations were that SMU would still not be successful. I was not wrong. jtstang wrote:Then why the expression of disappointment?
You have incorrectly perceived that my expression was one of disappointment.

Of all the things to blow a gasket about with respect to the game, this has to be about one of the dumbest. Best case scenario for Tulane was that SMU ends up with first and goal from the 1 foot line. So running our normal PAT set rather than hurry up and get the snap off was not something to go apes**t over.
Save it for something that was really disasterous. There were plenty of choices.

first and goal at the one is no guarantee of anything the last few years. As a fellow swinging gate hater, I can see how this would set one off.

MrMustang65 you are a dedicated fan and I hope you continue your spirited support. Just don't have a coronary in the stands.

MM1965, if you do have a coronary in the stands do you want to die at your seat, on the field, or should we call for a paramedic?

*LOL* Thanks for your concern, guys. Let me die on the field or at my seat. I'm sure the media would have a field day with the story about a fan of 'the only school to ever have the death penalty levied against it' dying during a game.

If that is a risk can you get a life insurance policy and name the mustang club as the beneficiary? That would be a real help.
The donkey's name is Kiki.
On a side note, anybody need a patent attorney?

Get SMU to change its 'model' for football and I'll consider it. Heart attacks do run in my family.

Believe me he wasn't the only one voicing displeasure at not just hiking the ball to avoid the replay, those of us in Section 105 were saying the same thing -- guess just not to his extreme.
I think we need more passionate fans and it sounds like at least he was thinking about the game situation as opposed to maybe some of the staff. Also, he would not scare my son away as he was one of the ones saying "why don't we hurry and kick the extra point"

Being passionate is not the same as making an [deleted] of yourself.

Agreed. But I didn't hear him or see what he did so I'm not going judge him. Several of us there Saturday did think the same thing though.
My point was it would be nice to have more fans that into the game to realize what the situation was, especially when it appears those who are being paid to run the team don't.
If you ever been to an SEC game you hear alot worse. 2 wks ago at Arkansas game 3 planes flew over with banners requesting Nutt be fired, and people who wanted him gone were encouraged to wear black to the game which many did shouting many things worse than I bet MM did.
