yep-well actually in SMU's governing system Turner is an employee of the Board of Trustees-who now have been so diluted of SMU alumni that I really don't think they care too terribly much about what happens to the Football Team. Interesting question-how many of the SMU Board of Trustees are even SMU graduates. It changes but I know many of the major corporate guys are not-they are there to engender support in the business community.

You are preaching to the choir brother. Boy, do we have work to do with this football program. This has been my point all along, PB is only a pawn in this system, and so will any other HC. We talk about getting someone with ties to the Dallas area, we have him in PB. Let PB and Orsini work their magic with Turner and the board of regents. It will take some time, but if we start over with a HC, it is even longer!

I hate to say this bigdaddy, but PB has NOT been making the case that the recruiting restrictions are hampering the progress of the football team. I don't know the reason that he hasn't made the case. The university did loosen some of the rules and he indicated that this was sufficient to allow him to recruit the athletes he needed to produce a winner. Obviously that has not happened, but AGAIN he has not made that case! Maybe he felt that saying so would jeopardize his job. I don't know the reason, but it appears to be too late now!
