Staney or Stainly?   Yes, he was a STAIN on the program!

(His real name was Stanley and he was a coke head for those who don't have a clue.)

I wish somebody in Austin, and College Station would win a Peabody
Award sometime soon :!: There were major league chances back then.

Hansen is such a self righteous hypocrit, and [b]BULLSHIDARTIST/b] :!:

He could've got UT, A$M, or anybody back then, but he chose us.
Probably, he got payola from the above, and besides, one of those A$M
sharp shooters would've nailed his @ss considering the D threats he
suposedly got from SMoo supporters :!:

With all due respect, did Stanley die or not? Whatever became of Stopperich...didn't Sherwood himself tried to recruit him?

I never heard that. Might I ask what the details were?

I like Richie Whitt's columns every week and thought he did a pretty good job, sure it was mainly to tell the story to people not that familiar with SMU, but I thought it was a good and entertaining retelling of the episode.

He did a good article on Doherty a few months back, very positive and funny....
