If the players' meeting report is correct, then it is not Gailey. He is not still coaching.

Have to admit you do have a point on this one SMUMan02. "Mangy program"
BRING BACK THE GLORY DAYS OF SMU FOOTBALL!!!

For some strange reason, one of the few universities that REFUSE to use their school colors: Harvard Crimson & Yale Blue.

Chan's time at Ga Tech was moderately successful, but much of the credit belongs to Jon Tenuta, his extremely high paid d coordinator. Tenuta commanded 500K+ and didn't have to recruit. Gailey minus Tenuta is a horrible hire, and Tenuta isn't coming
“When I first committed to SMU, I thought it would take a couple of years of building. But with these players coming in, we should make a run. We have a lot of heavy hitters. It could get real ugly for a lot of teams we play.”- Jalen Jones

The UGA fans would hate this hire. We should like it if it happens.

He lacks any charisma which is something we could use around here. He can coach but as we all remember he was hardly quotable.

Agreed that we hire the best coach available as long as his past doesn't affect what he does here. But surely you're not suggesting that we eliminate a coach simply because he's a good guy? That we go out of our way to hire a scumbag because scumbags win more than good guys?

I think Chan is hard for a lot of Cowboys fans to accept. The guy is a former NFL head coach who was won consistently in a BCS conference at a school that has high academic standards. Comparing his resume to Bennett, Cavan, and Rossley is night and day.

Why do you think I started this thread? Have I ever started such a thread before? No. Why do you think Ted Gangi started a nearly identical thread at Mustangmaniacs at the same time?

The answer: Reliable rumors.

I think Chan may/will be a disaster.

No, we've already done disaster, thank you.

Although Chan is not one of my preferreds, he is light years ahead of what we just endured.

At least, in the beginning, Bennett kind of got me excited and made me buy a ticket. Chan, not so much. Most boring personality available
