As I have told you before, we are waiting for the scraps from the table to fall. ORSINI DOES NOT "HAVE HIS MAN" whatever that is supposed to mean. NEVER DID!

When will you listen - Haven't you learned? - I have not been wrong.

you havent been wrong...but you havent been right...but i do kinda agree with you about not having his man...but im one of those RARE people who knew a coach wouldnt be hired until after the season...OUR seasons over but not the regular season...so everyone JUST BE PATIENT AND WAIT IT OUT
I Not saying he doesn't already "have his man," or saying that's what he's having to do.
I'll be the one to say it, if you dont want to. He doesnt. If he did, we would know it. If a new coach has been hired he needs to be here now, ramping up recruiting, meeting the fans, etc. Not going through the motions as a lame duck at whatever school he's leaving.
Try not to choke on the Kool-Aid.

he may not have his man, but i think its more of a question of, is his man a back up plan if the REAL #1 on his list won't coach here...sure that sentence may sound confusing but its really not

Fact: PB fired 4 weeks ago.
Fact: AD is still raising money for the new coaching staff.
Fact: D-1 programs are reporting who they are interviewing and hiring and no mention of SMU has interviewed anyone in the media.
Fact: Any coach that can turn program around must have some consessions requested besides money, ie new inclosed practice field, more student/athlete majors..
Fact: School of Education is still not accredited.
Fact: Plano search firm is same as Baylor's, and they have closed the deal and SMU has not still.
Obviously: Candidates have been contacted, interviews have been conducted, and no offers to coach SMU have been accepted.
SMU will not only be the last girl to be asked to the dance, she will be asked by the last man on earth!

Regardless of recent PCs at other schools, maybe there is a very good reason the new SMU coach has not yet been officially named...

and we all know theres no room at SMU now for newer practice facilities...LETS JUST BE PATIENT...we are in no need to rush our decision...the FATE OF SMU football lies within this hiring...dont want to set us back another 7 years

I am just dissapointed that nothing has happened yet. I am not becoming less of a fan, just simple frustration that I can't look forward to next year yet!

its all going to be okay...why rush a hire and F up...we got til the end of the weekend to get a good coach.

We have one recruit that has backed out of his verbal committment and has committed to TCU. I am telling you this search and wait thing is going to sink us. Our verbal committments are all 6'0" and shorter. The kid that backed out was 6'5". This is killing us. I wonder who is manning the zoo at this point, Vic? Thank God we have him. We have players wandering around campus without a purpose other than school. This is an important time in college football, and Orsini knows this. That is why I believe he is sweating bullets about now. At this point I don't care who it is, just get someome in here. Everyday without a HC represents a month of getting behind the rest of the recruiting world, and we cannot afford that.

J.T., we have no choice but to be patient. My point is that the administration had a head start out of the gate. Not that it's a race, but I'm saying this looks more like the AD may be hingeing on desperate times. And you know what the next line is. I'm with you lakehighlands. I have faith in Orsini but the coaching pool is small and I don't want us to just grab the last fish in it.

He told me the university did not have the money to double the campus police, so we could not come to terms. He did tell me that my salary was within reason.
