while i frequently take issue with expony's quest to champion phil bennett, he doesn't bullsh*t saying he has info when he doesn't. he played at SMU during bennett's tenure and is still well conected to the team and athletic department. i am giving him the benifit of the doubt on this one.

I believe Paul Johnson was the number 1 choice, but I don't think we could get him (this is pure speculation)

exp's source could be wrong even if it's in the athletic dept. fran would be a good coach, i'm just got a little heartburn with him personally so i hope it's not (and we get someone better)

Look all i want to know is what does A&M picking a bowl game have to do with the annoucement. Fran is a freeagent coach.
