Never in the history of this board has anyone been so consistantly incorrect.

I'm still waiting for him to be wrong ONCE-then I'll decide if he is bullshiting us. He earned points when he went against the grain and said that SMU would not announce a Coach early in the Week when speculation was rampant

Hold on Stallion. I have said 12/3 from day 1 and I have no credibility whatsoever, so that is not a good yardstick.

You've already got street cred-except to some of the new punks on the board. Biggin's a newbie. I'm willing to give him a break until he proves to be a charade. Very nice call the other nite when 99% were going to other way. Indications are growing that he was correct with Nutt too. He also was non-commital on Kragthorpe at first-indicating that he wasn't trying to express a knee-jerk conclusion. He claims to have extensive but sometimes limited knowledge with some candidates. It rings true to me. And he is much more in tune to the true view on the SMU job in the coaching community than most on this board. Could contacts in the Sports Agency field.

Why do people keep blasting Orsini? He has reached an agreement with a coach for SMU football. You seem to think you are privileged to know who it is right away. If you were important, in the realm of Mustang football, someone important, in the realm of Mustang football, would have told you. You are a "nobody", so live with it. You do not need to know who the coach is at this time. Relax and wait for the announcement. It will give you time to collect your incessant negative thoughts and work yourself into a tizzy or a frenzy - whichever comes first.
Then I guess that us nobodies can all stop giving money (at any level) to the athletic department and leave that to the small inner circle of elite donors.

I guess we can all stop going to the games as well, seeing as we don't matter.

I guess all of us who don't know who the coach is can stop posting here as well.

It's all about perception, and a lot of people perceive that Orsini and/or the administration have dropped the ball. I want nothing more than to open up my email sometime in the next month and realize that I grossly underestimated them both, but until that happens, I'm gonna say what I'm thinking.
.............................I'm not blaming Orsini and I appreciate the money raised. I know the University appreciates my continued donations, but the best hires appear to have been told no. Some of the coaches mentioned now don't make alot of sense, so you wonder who is in control ? That is why some are concerned they have dropped the ball again.....Hopefully we are being slow walked by another great coach that will surprise us all and be the Mustangs next coach.

President Turner is the reason we have a chance to turn this program around.

I hope you are right. Really do.

Stallion - usually I am with you - but you are off on this one. I did not sense a groundswell of people believing the Kraigthorpe thing - I sense he was not offered the job at all - a rumor got leeked to a web site and all of a sudden he was a leading candidate - it was never true.

Nutt leaves Arkansas for SMU??? No thinking person ever thought that was happening.

He is saying we are screwed just because we are not announced yet. I say BS on that. If we don't have a coach by end of next week I will admit I was wrong. Silence at this point does not mean anything negative. Biggin has no sources and is full of it. If you cant pick that up from his incoherant posts then you are not a very good lawyer.

1 million a year, plus good money for a staff, plus CUSA competition (not tough) = a recipe for a turn around - if they can admit some recruits that are on the edge - that last part is the most important - and if my name was in the hat I would be nailing that down in writing - which is probably what they are doing right now.

I truly believe that both Nutt and Kragthorpe were contacted. Geez two separate people in the Louisville administration stated it was 50/50 he takes the job. I've heard from reliable SMU sources that Nutt was pursued. I believe several perhaps many have been contacted and expressed a lack of interest. Every day after last Monday convinces me of that.

I sure the heck hope that after a hire is announced, Orsini signs a book deal with Harper Collins to disclose the entire process.

I am guessing it will be about a half a page long and will go like this....
"I was the first to fire my coach as the advisement of most people at SMU. I had my man from day one. Instead of letting everyone know who it was from day one, I decided to hold my cards and let them bleed. It just made for a better story that every school in America that fired their coach as well happened to announce their decision earlier than I did!!"

DANGER WILL ROBINSON....DANGER....

Kate in her new article had this quote from Orsini...

"Orsini said SMU was "very open as far as candidates" and "diversity is important."

The PC crowd (Turner) is involved.....We are doomed.......
