I'm just of the opinion that we need a recruiter more then a coach. Someone, who can really sell the program. Johnson just doesn't seem like the guy.
And he took Navy to victory over ND for the first time in 43 years. Class of '02
Johnsons a winner though...and Winning will bring in the recruits...hes going to have to get it done with PBs guys first and the recruits will start coming in
Sorry, but our players are pretty bad. We are going to have be in that "trust me mode" for 5 years minimum.
our players are more YOUNG/INEXPERIENCED then bad...especially on the D side of the ball

If deep down you want Bowden, why not stick with it, rather then blowing which ever way the wind is currently going? Johnson sucks dude
He definately wouldn't be a WOW. I don't like the idea of running the Triple Flex Bone or whatever you call it. Why don't we just hire Ken Hatfield...he isn't doing anything.
Check out the poll!!! Johnson is going more and more down. Is the kind of wow, we were all looking for??? Yeah, right, Johnson is a bum.
Whitney, you are a bum
![]() Case file: Navy coach Paul Johnson SOUTH BEND, IN - NOVEMBER 12: ![]() Head coach Paul Johnson of the Navy Midshipman walks the sidelines during a game against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish on November 12, 2005 at Notre Dame Stadium in South Bend, Indiana. Notre Dame defeated Navy 42-21. Paul Johnson/case file Position: Navy coach Age: 49 Year at Navy: fifth Record: 36-24 (he was 2-10 in his first season) Why you should know him: Move over Air Force coach Fisher DeBerry, Johnson is the new dean of service academy football  although he won't admit it. Background: Came to Navy after winning two I-AA national championships (1997-2001) at Georgia Southern. Served as Navy's offensive coordinator in 1995-96. Best attributes: His offense, the triple option  which guts opposing defenses, his intensity, preparation and cool Southern drawl. His first experience with the option: Came as a player at Avery County (N.C.) High School in the mid-1970s. Best stat: Johnson is 8-1 (.889) against service academies, including 4-0 against Army. That's the best start by a coach in Navy history. He's just the third coach all-time at Annapolis to start 4-0 against the Black Knights. Interesting stat: His career .742 winning percentage (98-34) ranks him 12th among all active Division I-A coaches. Colorado's Dan Hawkins is 11th (94-32-1, .744) and Jim Tressel at Ohio State (197-70-2, .742) is 13th. His best work against Army: Probably 2002, the Meadowlands Massacre, a 58-12 victory over Army and coach Todd Berry. Three Navy blowouts have followed, but the Meadowlands Massacre is the coolest nickname. Best thing that could happen to Army when it comes to Navy: Johnson takes another job and bolts Annapolis. He's that good. Next stop: His name was tossed around earlier this year when North Carolina fired John Bunting, but Butch Davis landed that job. Johnson also has been attached to openings at Duke and Kentucky. There has been speculation that, one day, Johnson will return to coach a school in his home state of North Carolina. C-ya @ Milos!
i dont CARE who our coach is because I HAVE NO SAY on who is coming here...Im not blowing which ever way the wind is currently going... MY FIRST CHOICE IS BARNETT but thats not going to happen... PJ is a proven winner...so he doesnt suck...hes nut not a WOW coach in my mind...and neither is Bowden...BARNETT is a WOW coach
Living outside of Dallas. He IS a WOW hire. Mentioned for several big time Univ. Not my pick, but a big time hire. Thought is was a done deal with Neb.
great, we're getting a coach that only 50% of this board is excited about. can't wait. Again, who is Paul Johnson?
