Do we have a better chance of getting DeSoto RB Cyrus Gray?

Good question... I have no idea... he could be a real star with his offense

I wouldn't mind seeing Chris Butler in his offense.

It would be nice to finally lineup and watch McKinney ripping open a hole with DMart or Butler crashing in behind him.

Do WRs become afterthoughts in that offense?

Is it a foregone conclusion that if Johnson takes the job that he will install the triple option "flexbone" offense?

He was the OC at Hawaii and there they ran a spread offense.

Is it a foregone conclusion that Paul Johnson's our coach? Fran was our coach yesterday.

And Chan Gailey before that.

And Kragthorpe before that.

SMU will not be able to recruit highly touted Passing QBs, RBs, or WRs if they run that offense. I speak from years of experience. Top RBs will be unsatisfied with 10-12 carries a game. Top WRs don't get enough passes. Top Passing QBs don't want to run the ball. SMU might be able get good running QBs who are for the most part ignored by most program. Rarely will they be run/pass threats. Cyrus Gray will not give SMU a second look.

Why? Isn't Cyrus being recruited as a RB?

What are your 'years of experience.'?
“When I first committed to SMU, I thought it would take a couple of years of building. But with these players coming in, we should make a run. We have a lot of heavy hitters. It could get real ugly for a lot of teams we play.”- Jalen Jones

While I appreciate Stallions years of experience, I will go with PJ on this one.

1997: 10-3
1998: 14-1
1999: 13-2
2000: 13-2
2001: 12-2
2002: 2-10 (first year at navy, and half of his victories were against SMU)
2003: 8-5
2004: 10-2
2005: 8-4
2006: 9-4
2007: 7-4 (with one game left to play)

And this statement "SMU will not be able to recruit highly touted Passing QBs, RBs, or WRs if they run that offense" makes it seem like we do recruit highly touted recruits right now.....
