BY THE NUMBERS

1-22

The combined record of the three teams (Eastern Michigan, Buffalo, SMU) that are ranked behind Ohio State in total offense. The Buckeyes are No. 114 nationally with 278.3 yards per game.

And Ohio State is ranked where ?!?!?!?!

no matter how u slice it - a bcs-bs team will get preference over a non-bcs-bs team any day - any week...

we must remember always that who is that 'contract' between? yep, friends & guests, the bcs-bs conferences & the NETWORKS - fox, espn, abc, nbc & etc!!!

& they're going to do whatever it takes to preserve & protect their interests which includes LYING, CHEATING & FALSE ADVERTIZING - in other words, building up the reputations of 'their' teams!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

college athletics in the 21st century!
BRING BACK THE GLORY DAYS OF SMU FOOTBALL!!!

For some strange reason, one of the few universities that REFUSE to use their school colors: Harvard Crimson & Yale Blue.

SMU needs to do something to get its football and basketball programs back to being respectable!! So far, in trying to do everything "the right way" our programs have become huge under-achievers on the playing field/court. Perhaps it is time to look over to Fort Worth and see what a school that is very much like SMU has done to build a football program that wins conference championships and goes to bowl games. Certainly, the press that they are getting for having a top 15 team is better than what SMU is getting for having one of the 3 winless programs in Division 1 football. COME ON ADMINISTRATION - DO WHATEVER MUST BE DONE TO LEVEL THE PLAYING FIELD SO THAT WE CAN COMPETE!!!!!!! :showoff:

Navy&Crimson- let's get real. Facts you left out include OSU is defending national champs; they WIN; Ohio State's defense rankings (9 in yards, 12 in scoring-SMU's 82 & 99 respectively); and compare the schedules. Any guess what Illinois or even lowly Indiana would do in the WAC? Just a thought...

Let's see what is TCU doing in basketball that we're not doing. Ummm, nothing. In fact our basketball program is ahead of theirs according to every major category. What is TCU doing in football that we're not doing? Well, they're winning, but they started out 1-10 before they got going and Sullivan did not leave a bare cupboard for Franchione. What specifically is TCU doing now that we're not doing? Enlighten us, oh great snob/troll. We have a better rated freshman class than them. The only difference is that today we don't have a PE major and I believe they do. If that's the only difference, then there's not much more we can do except be patient.
UNC better keep that Ram away from Peruna

As far as basketball programs, there really is not much difference between SMU and TCU right now. I do believe that TCU has played in the post-season more times than SMU has post SWC. In addition, they have pretty much owned SMU on the hardwood until last year in men's bball. While Franchione might not have left TCU without some talent, the point is that they went from a 1-10 team to a top 25 program with multiple conference championships and bowl games almost overnight. We have been "rebuilding" this program for the last 15 years, and the results on the field are not any better than they were when football first came back from the DP. I just want to know how much longer it is going to take to have a respectable program with regards to wins and losses.
