Was Phil Bennett..

Postby Pony Soup » Sun Dec 02, 2007 11:06 pm

coaching the redskins today? They had the emotional game all but locked up until the coach called back to back timeouts to ice the kicker, which incurs an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty in the NFL. This made what would have been a 51 yd attempt only a 36 yard gimme.

Sounds like a Phil move to me...

That's harsh, man. Considering what that team has been through this year, Coach Gibbs — one of the greatest coaches in history, by the way — could be forgiven for not remembering how many yards are in a first down.

Change your name and cancel your Bennett lynch mob.

Reminds me more of Chris Webber in a basketball game.

It was a bone head move. In fact, this icing the kicker fad should be outlawed. Beyond that, I hate the Skins and their beloved coach.

RIP ST

Bonehead move, to be sure. Check.

Icing the kicker fad to be outlawed? YES PLEASE! Couldn't agree with you more. (Didn't you know it would be PB's luck that he'd be the first coach to lose a game because of that?)

Hating the Skins and Gibbs? Fair enough, although anyone who can win a Super Bowl with Mark Rypien at QB is nothing short of a genius, if you ask me. I don't like them much, either, but Coach G is pure greatness. Would be more successful if Little Danny didn't keep getting in the way.

Give it up on trying to pin me down as a "mean person" (oooohhh scary) because of a username on a fan website. Second, I never said anything negative about that happening to us except "wouldn't you know.." Go talk to the peole that said he cost us the game by doing that.
