Dorrell Out at UCLAAccording to ESPN. Possible replacements are Tech's Leach and Peterson from Boise St., along with DeWayne Walker (current UCLA DC).

i doubt they would hire Leach. UCLA has too much tradition and booster influence to allow that circus to come to town

I've read it is a job he really wants, so he'll be on his best behavior if they consider him seriously.
UCLAs desperate at this point i would have to say...they keep losing to SC and the basketball team is controlling that school yet again...they want BOTH sports on time and would hire leach if they felt it was the best option for beating SC and winning the Pac10...THEY WANT THE ROSES THAT BAD!
I couldn't agree more. College towns like Lubbock in a rural setting are the only kinds of programs that can stomach, accept, and protect guys like Leach and Bobby Knight. Knight would have never been picked up by a savvy or cosmopolitan program like UCLA and Leach would not be any different. I guess it goes without saying that I don't like the Red Raiders. Re: Dorrell Out at UCLA
I heard Mariucci as well.
Re: Dorrell Out at UCLAI've also heard that Mooch is their top choice.
Why I am hopeful we are not going the OC / DC route
Dorrell coached 12 years on the collegiate level, including seven seasons as an offensive coordinator. He has participated in 16 bowl games in his career as a player and coach, including three Rose Bowls, two Fiesta Bowls and two Cotton Bowls. He was also known as a decent recruiter.
Very impressed with this man. His team had terrible injury problems this year & still were very competitive. One game this year they had 9 walk-ons playing key roles. He is someone that should be seriously considered for this HC job.
NO HE IS NOT.
Does he have any connection to Steve-O?
Not a bad coach, from what I've read. Not John McKay or Bobby Bowden, perhaps, but allegedly pretty good. Worth a look?
Yeah, no. He is widely criticized by the LA media as being way too passive and taciturn. In fact, he's been dubbed "Karl Dullard" by the LA Times. I don't think he has the upbeat and animated personality that the SMU job requires.

agree. i've never seen him get angry or break a sweat on the sidelines in any game. showed zero emotion on the sideline
