My source (Impeccable) has told me Johnson will either opt to stay at Navy or move on to SMU for the $$$. Unfortunately, DRad and "the board" couldn't offer him more than 1.5.

Chris Hatcher is now the leading candidate.

So, its now between us and Navy pretty much, unless Duke suddenly jumps back in. There are lots of wealthy Navy alums out there who might be willing to pay what it takes to keep the CIC trophy coming. On the other hand, I hope there are some rich West Point grads who will donate to the SMU hiring fund to get Johnson away from Annapolis.

If this is true, it look good for SMU. PJ seems to be ready for a new challenge. There's not much more he can do at Navy.
