SMU Football Blog wrote:Are you sure that plane is still in Miami?

The news media was thrown a curve ball Tuesday when it lost the ability to track the private plane used by Osborne and Perlman on Sunday and Monday. The aircraft registered to Norfolk Iron and Metal Co., owned by NU booster Richard Robinson, paid a fee to have it removed from flight-tracking Web sites.

The next two lines from that article are better:

This website is reporting about SMU possibly picking up Navy's Paul Johnson in Gerald Ford's plane.

A dead president is now helping out college football searches and you thought flight tracking was bizarre?

As someone close to the Nebraska situation, my understanding is that the booster asked to have the registration for his plane blocked. Just meant that the ownership details and tail number weren't listed. You could still track the flights, but somehow the media lost track of it--must have been using different airports or making additional stops. Don't know if that removes the rest of the flight history, but I'll see if I can find out anything else about that.

Love the dead president line.

Unfortunately, you can indeed have your aircraft blocked from tracking software, and Ford may have learned his leason for the future. Try pulling up N1DC (Jerry Jones's G V) it too is blocked - his for differnt reason obviously. No reason letting the wife know your where abouts.

thats the difference i was talking about... if you plug in N1DC it gives you a "no dice, sucka" response but lists Blue Star as the owner... GJF's is not doing that... i say the plane's still in Miami.
