On his decision to come to Atlanta:
"It seemed like a match made in heaven to me. There's probably not another program we would have left the Naval Academy for."

I see nothing but positives for SMU in that statement except a realization that the BCS sucks. That is a real newsflash. You would think you had found the Rosetta Stone or something.
We have learned that SMU will pay a lot to get this done.
And Johnson said he could go 13-0 at SMU.

We'll see about that match made in heaven in a couple of years if they continue on the Chan Gailey path of a winning season, lower tier bowl, and losses to Georgia. He used us for a sweet payday - which is ok, this is America, but those fans are going to expect that 13 -0. We would have erected a monument to him if he replicated the Navy record his first 5 years here but there????? Good luck, coach. The expectations you are walking into would choke that Navy goat......

So what did we offer. It would seem that Tech probably matched our 2.3 Million bid and we were not done if this report is to be believed. Pretty damn impressive

You know what would be impressive? If we actually got a coach in the next century that people said "WOW!" about.

I wonder if the donors would cosider endowing the assistant Coaches if we end up hiring a much less expensive Coach. The UT has been extremely successful in using this method to retain and entice its assistants. If a UT assistant stays something like 7 years then they receive an annuity of a very large amount something like half a Million

actually I've heard conflicting reports from Georgia Tech. 14 Million over 6 years and one report from their AD that said "a tad over 11 Million" for 7 years. So our guess might be a tad high.

If PJ said about Ga. Tech that there is probably not another school he would have left Navy for then why in the world did he accept a ride on a private jet to look at SMU....totally classless in my opinion. F. Him. I hope he gets hurt or sick and cannot coach next year. Bitter, nah....but revenge is sweet.

I'm pissed, but I don't wish illness or injury on him. I do hope that he one day regrets the decision when the coach SMU hires makes us a legitimate team again.
