SMU

I am told that Rick Neuhiesal is out of the running, if that is true that is a shame.

Dom Capers - SMU has visited with him, i am not sure of his interest.

Fran - brings TX recruiting knowledge but also brings i just failed at A&M also.

Glen Mason - i was told he had another interview recently.

Chan Gailey - would be a great fit and who i think is most likely.

Dom Capers?

That can't be serious. Doesn't he already get paid more than we are offering?

On the other hand, maybe the Dolphin situation is so bleak he wants out before it ruins him? Is that what GJF's plane was doing in Miami?

Uh, I think you are thinking of Cam Cameron. Dom Capers coached the Texans until last year.

EDIT: No, you are right. He is the DC at Miami now. My bad. Did not know he was with the Dolphins now.

Dom Capers is the DC for the Dolphins, and I believe the most highly paid DC in the NFL ($2.5 mil, if I remember correctly.) I'll go look it up though.

On January 23, 2006, the Miami Dolphins announced the hiring of Dom Capers as the team's defensive coordinator. There, he serves as assistant head coach. With a annual salary of $2.6 million, Capers is the highest paid assistant coach in the National Football League, alongside Washington Redskins assistant head coach Gregg Williams.[1]

Orsini hires people he knows and trusts. I said from day watch Johnson or the Cowboy connection.

Well, Johnson was on, but kaboom!

Hey I know that I may be out in right field without a glove, but Chan Gailey's and Steve-O's paths have crossed. However, rumor has it that Gailey doesn't want the job.....

Turner doesn't want someone with a checkered past. That is fact, so that's why RN, TB, and GB or out. The only way that would happen is GJF and company put the big time heat on GT and I don't see it.

Hey I hope I am wrong on GT, but I doubt it.

Remember what Darth says about SMU football:

"What can go wrong, will go wrong!"

It's the Kubiak curse.

I hope all these Coaches don't eliminate a School with a checkered past or we are DOOMED.

I have no problem with checkered pasts, but being able to win has to be a must. Dom Capers??? The train wreck from the Texans (1 and 15 in his final season) and the dolphins we don't need.
