The CPA should understand that he needs to give his fans something and his connections at the ticket something. Why would the ticket interview him again if he won't say anything? I am losing interest in this head coach headache.

OK, paraphrasing (as fast as I can type ... and then come back and clean up spelling errors, etc.)

Norm: Let me jump right in - did it surprise you/hurt you that Paul Johnson went to Georgia Tech?

Steve-O: No, not at all, Paul is a great coach, GT is a great place - I spent three years - wish everyone well.

Norm: Fran?

Steve-O: Not going to make any comment about any candidate until resolved.

You know, I feel we've done the best we could do (holding commitments) - my right-hand administrator was the offensive coordinator at Naval Academy - that's how I met - we got him eligible through NCAA so he can stay in contact. The excitement is still there from every player we have committed, and our hope is that when we announce the new coach, even more players will be interested in SMU.

(No timeline) - they (coaches at other teams) don't want to disturb their timeline and that's the way it should be. It's a courtship - it takes two to tango.

I do know PJ pretty well, we did have three years together at NA - he has a great offense - to give you an idea - the offense Florida running (qb just scored 20 touchdowns) - that's paul johnson's offense. god bless the student-athletes at naval, they're going to protect us - not upset, we knew he was a hot commodity - we didn't win this one, but we're confident we're going to win on a good one.

(Some number) of top offenses have QB from Texas. We hope the new coach has an offensive style that's exciting for players and fans.

PJ didn't come down here to waste time. beautiful campus, city of Dallas, Dallas's university - foundation is laid - just need a leader to come in here and return SMU to its glory days.

Hopes for playoff. Money left on table is a lot more than March Madness. Yada yada yada....

WTF is Norm doing talking about college playoffs? We want Steve-O to talk about our coach, dammit!

Took no questions.

We asked him to say something of relevance. He didn't quite get to that point.

Has anyone laughed at Norm's jokes more than Norm does?

What was Orsini's answer? No comment?

either that was the worst interview ever conducted, or Orsini & Co. tied their hands so tight, the playoff questions were a joke/slap in the face

Why did Orsini even bother to go on the radio if he had absolutley nothing to say ...his act of secrecy is wearing thin ....at this point would anybody out there be disappointted with Bowden, Mason, Fran, Barnett ...guys who are not coaching and could start tomorrow !

Steve-Oh did add one thing.

He changed his previous "We're going after the best coach in America" to "We're going after the best coach available in America"

I'm still hoping he's able to pull off a shocker.

I responded earlier and was undoutebly frustrated...after thinking this over, I am even more frustrated. The head of our athletic program, and in most eyes one of the more visible university representatives had the chance to speak to the media and promote SMU.

Can anyone tell me in what way did he promote SMU? Our school is in need of any positive publicity it can get, and he did nothing. Our women's tennis coach did more to promote SMU than Orsini did.

I am extremely disappointed...
