Responsibilities
Southern Methodist University, a private university of 11,000 students near the center of Dallas, seeks a Football Head Coach.

Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

- Responsible for the overall success, performance, and conduct of SMU?s Bowl Championship Series (BCS) Football program in the areas of academics, athletics and student athlete conduct;

- Supervising, planning and coordinating the activities of the football team/program;

- Hiring, assigning duties and evaluating the football assistant coaches;

- Responsible for all areas of recruiting;

- Promoting the Football program, the Athletics Department, and Southern Methodist University through marketing and public relations activities;

- Understanding of and compliance to rules and regulations of the National Collegiate Athletic Association, C-USA, Southern Methodist University and all other governing bodies relative to the position.
Education and Experience
A Bachelors degree is required.

A minimum of five years coaching experience is required. Demonstrated successful coaching experience is essential. BCS Division experience preferred
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Candidate must demonstrate strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community. Must also demonstrate strong leadership and management skills, with well developed decision-making skills.

Candidates must possess strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize work and manage resources. Knowledge in recruiting, strategic thinking and execution of budget management is essential

At least we're only looking for coaches who have had successful coaching experience!


Well, it does narrow down some of the candidates for us! We know they have to have 5 years of experience.


.......kind of vague though. Wonder if that's head coaching experience? Maybe that's the real reason why Turner Gill is out.

I guess we can finally put the Turner Gill nonsense to rest. his work experience doesn't meet the job requirements.
Ok this is getting ridiculous...I agree with Dutch on THIS ONE POST by him totally
