Suddenly we have such boastful prospects...were we not talking to people before? Are these the first two excited about SMU? Are these two posturing for other positions, to help SMU attract other coaches or are we allowing leaks to cover up our current activities. It just keeps getting curiouser and curiouser.

Again, we could have had either weeks ago... These aren't a "wow" but a "hmmm" hire
Agreed. Bowden or Neuheisel were the WOWs.
The coach is still coaching. We may not know for a couple of weeks. The longer this goes on the better.

Somebody call Kate. CBS did her work this time, but she still needs to write a story.

It wouldn't shock me if it went the otherway around. That Kate is their "Source" and they found their info from the DMN.

Belo is going to source something to CBS? Not likely. You know how media prides themselves on being first with a story.

If by source you mean: "Read in the paper" then yes, I think so.
I'm just saying that its a deduction based on the two reports of interviews and the lack of a report today.
I don't think CSTV has anything.

Coker >> Fran
Fran left as soon as LT left TCU. He left after two years at UA. He ruined A&M and did worse than Slocum. He's an arrogant scumbag who ditched his UA players and had a secretive $1,200 donor report.
Coker had a bad year but otherwise, won a national title and did VERY well at a program with fewer resources than Fran. Fran was just recently disgracefully dismissed from A&M.

My personal expections: Low for Coker, because I don't expect much of him in the way of being able to recruit here immediately. High for Fran, because I think he will do very well with the players, will create a lot of buzz, and will be able to recruit here immediately.
On the upside for Coker, it would be nearly impossible for him to trend down at SMU from last year. Either coach will probably start trending up with the bar set low on number of wins.

Since our website is sponsored by them, perhaps they have some pretty good sources in the SMU staff, or maybe they're just readng our emails (I kid, that would be illegal).

Reminds me of this article:
UH narrows coaching candidates to Pardee, Haywood
For University of Houston athletics director Dave Maggard, the hunt goes on for a football coach to replace Art Briles. But a person with knowledge of the situation says that the search has been narrowed to two candidates  former NFL and Cougars coach Jack Pardee and Notre Dame offensive coordinator Michael Haywood.
