2007-08 North Texas (7-2)
18 minutes pg
6.5 ppg
1.9 asst
We could probably use him about now, even though I didn't think he was all that great.
Oh and UNT beat Southern 79-58 the other night.

We didn't need him. Haven't you heard? Its okay to lose to SC Upstate because we're young. Don't have any expectations until year 5 or 6 of this either. Carry on.

Does anyone here think this would be a significantly better team with Dez on it? I certainly don't.
On another note, there is obviously a reason he is no longer here. He started last season in the doghouse and supposedly it was do to conditioning/effort issues. I do not have a personal relationship with Dez and cannot comment if this is true or not, but if it were the case then I am fine with him moving on. Too many good ballplayers are willing to bust their ever living tail off to play college ball to waste time with someone who half-as$es it.

He could help a bit, by no means is he great. For his sake, he's playing on a better team with a shot to play in March again.

Dez was no hero, but could have meant one more veteran player. Why are we so much worse than last year? Pearson was ok, but not great last year. Are we really missing Rack that much? Its no one thing, but having another guy with guard experience and a decent shooting threat might make more difference than you think in the scheme of things. He should be on this team this year and we should not be losing to Upstate. this is hurting the program and hurting recruiting. make no mistake about it.

This season is not about winning early games but teaching young players. One more spare guard may help win those early games but would not help us be a better team in the long run, even later on this season.
Go Ponies!! Beat whoever it is we are playing!! @PonyGrad

It would help us in the long because walker could practice against him every day - walker would only get better by going head to head against an experienced player

I don't think Dez had much to do with our success last year. Other than the last minute basket against TCU, which was huge! I think we are missing Ofoegbu, Pearson and the Rack. That said, it would be nice to have Dez as an added leader on this team. His experience would help calm the jittery freshman in a game like tuesday or the season opener against Southern where we saw big leads evaporate and turn into L's.

I think we may be missing Demetric Bennett as well. Noticed he went for 39 the other Nite and is averaging 20 ppg. See we recruit well-they just play on other teams.

Epps was a senior last year.
If you meant Brian Morris, he was kicked off his junior college team. Current whereabouts unknown.

It would definitely be nice to have him on the team this year, but we are not missing him from last year's team since he was already at South Alabama.

That is amazing b/c he looked horrible when I saw him play. I guess players do develop
