what are the odds that today or tomorrow we find out USM's Jeff Bower is who we've been waiting for? with USM playing right now, we should be able to rule him in or out within a day or so.

he would be a good hire...folks in Hattiesburg by and large like him and appreciate him. Several big-buck alums were instrumental in his dismissal because he was not as successful against UM.MSU,UA.

We could do much worse...

If not Fran then Coker must be the man. He does not have the baggage and has the experience and bowl track record to prove his abilities. SO let us know soon as the year is nearly over. :cry:

Why would SMU have to wait until after a bowl game to hire a coach that got fired 2 weeks prior?

Supposedly Bower is the frontrunner to be the first head coach of the new University of South Alabama Football team in 2009 when they start up.
