What about this guy do you like other than the fact that he would run back to the coast the first chance he got. Hell he ain't coming here.

Sounds like a SO type hire to me.
He woud be a perfect fit. I would love to see him here. Youngish, enthusiastic - could get in anyone living room for a chat at recruiting time- and he knows which rules to focus on and which ones to ignore.
I would say occasional trouble with the NCAA would be better then 25 years in siberia.
