Season Tickets?I have read quite a few of the favorite SMU moments and everyone's first college game, and it always had made me wonder who has season tickets? I have always thought we should rely more on peer pressure and make calls to friends and classmates that are in Dallas that are not attending games. I have been to a Texas game, a TCU game, an Oklahoma game, and I honestly can say that our stadium and our environment for a family is on par, if not above the others. I see far more kids at our games than any other college place and I think that is very special. Years from now, I hope those kids will remember how much fun it was and make sure to attend the SMU games. Still...how many of you have season tickets for SMU football games? I think my four tickets and a parking pass were a grand total of $1,200...not that bad...and the basketball tickets are even a better price.
What can we do as an alumi to get more people at the games....and yes, I know the team can be better, but we have to be able to do something outside of the team improving...thoughts?
I have fb and bball season tickets.
Pony94, you might find it interesting to note that the number of season ticket holders for SMU football is roughly the same number as the season ticket holders to the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees CHL team. It gets harder and harder not to conclude most posts with "we suck."
I wasnt down there when the Killer Bees were down there...but it would be nice to see more season ticket holders at games than I used to see kids in Mexico on a Friday night. Seriously, I feel whole heartedly that the AD needs to improve the situation on the field, but we as SMU fans might need to do a little more. We are a unique fan base...a tortured fan base...but a Saturday at an SMU game is still a great experience. I enjoy every time I am down on the BLVD and just walking around campus. We have the best campus in Texas and I would say the best campus for a thousand miles. I do believe reading early on in my SMU career that "University" was about friendship and comraderie. Maybe I am wishing for too much....but I hope we can some how convince more people to show up on Saturday afternoon, Saturday nights and Tuesday evenings...or whenever an SMU team plays....
We usually have about 10-15 season ticket holders every season.
We hope that number will increase when a new coach delivers more wins. Go Mustangs! "THE SMU BLVD - - NO PLACE ELSE" (retired)
15 tickets for our group associated with Special Delivery is correct. Pony94 is right on the money, what a picturesque campus. I love arriving on the 'Vard early on game day!
"10-15? is that a serious estimate? WOW that is awful"
Awful? How many SMU season ticket holders are there at your company? Special Delivery isn't Exxon. We think 10-15 SMU season ticket holders, sometimes more, is actually a nice turnout from Special Delivery at every single home game. If more companies associated with SMU could get 10-20 people at every game like Special Delivery does, Ford Stadium would be full. "THE SMU BLVD - - NO PLACE ELSE" (retired)
No no I wasn't saying that was awful. I misunderstood. I thought you were estimating about 15 TOTAL season ticket holders! Oops I'm an idiot.
Maybe we would get more season ticket holders if we had a more intense coach. I think this guy could get everyone fired up: http://deadspin.com/337203/coach-jim-rackley-has-no-off-switch
You do realize that it is just plain stupid to think SMU had 15 holders total, right? Sir, shooting-star, sir.
