I think it might be later than we think. To do a press conference on Sunday or Monday, saying he is taking the SMU job, that means he would be pulling a Fran, and telling his team he is going to another school by teleconference. Not a good move, but I suppose he gets a pass, seeing how it's like an 812-hour flight and it's almost mid-January? I dunno

Valid point. But he may have already told his players something since there are guys declaring for the draft who said they would stay if Jones did.

Maybe he can fly back to Hawaii with the SMU crew, have his team meeting, and do the press conference on the beach in Hawaii while drinking one last mai thi for ole times sake... now that would be big time
