He admitted on the air the other night that he and Pete Delkus (weather guy) and Delkus' brother went out for NYE dinner (Pete bought dinner) and that they had - quote - 'several bottles of wine'! Hansen will not attend the SMU news conference when the Mustangs' new coach is announced. WFAA will send either Riba or Trahan.
Has he been banned from campus? Shouldn't he be?

Come on...
Yes, Hansen is a [deleted] of the highest order, but it's not exactly like we were innocent in the 80s...
It's not his fault.

It's not like OU, Alabama, Arkansas and Miami were innocent either.
But they skated post-DP.
I'll remain pissed, thank you.

Don't get me wrong - to this day I refuse to watch or listen to Hansen...
However, I still think it's funny people infer they blame him for the DP when the state governor was running a slush fund for SMU athletes...
Also, I know every other school in the SWC was doing the same thing. Everybody knows we got screwed royally.

Is this right that David Stanley came to him with all of the info?
If so, then Hansen was at the right place at the right time. He broke nothing.

I don't blame Hansen. I do get irritated that he still marks the anniversary of his big story from time to time.

I do understand. We did it to ourselves. He was just one of many poster boys of my disgust with the whole thing.
I do still wish I had my old SMU T-shirt with a pony on the front with the screw in the behind that said NCAA.
