My last post was 100 % inaccurate so take this how you want. My "source" is on the "inside" of the university community, not the athletic community, so things can change before he/she finds out.

I believe that Jumpshooter and I are working the same source (jumpshooter if I am wrong -- sorry). It is my understanding that at the middle to end of last week that JJ's agent was presented with the offer and almost everyone at SMU thought it would be accepted almost immediately. This lead to my post about the press conference. Needless to say things have changed. My latest conversation with my source was not good. The athletic department is waiting without a clear direction if things turn out badly. It is a 50/50 at best split in the inner circle on Fran and Coker.

I have said June Jones will be the next coach since my first post in mid/late December. I am stilll sticking to it, but the level of concern on the hilltop does not make me feel very good.

Interesting. I was just told that a lot of this is undue stress, that they (JJ/Steinberg) are just working out the details of his release from UH, and that he still will be named SMU's head coach.
Sure as hell hope my source is better than yours.
