The Mai Tai.
I am going to have to learn how to make Poi. Next years menu to start out with roasted pig.
Let's all be happy today.

Please, please, please don't learn to make poi. The stuff is vile. You could just as well serve grey Silly Putty. We did have some tasty taro rolls at a luau. I would recommend those if you feel the need to experiment with taro.

Love it...... but I should note that the Mai Tai was a mainlad creation. Trader Vic's.... the Oakland location, or some such?
Thought of making a Mai Tai joke earlier but then it dawned on me ... the Trader Vic's thing.... may as well look it up now.
........
Yup. Trader Vic's ... Oakland. I thought I had remembered reading all that when Trader Vic's re-opened in Big D.

Embrace the lava flow: pina colada with strawberry puree. Really good stuff.
