Guys this is why we have the problems we have....wrong people making decisions for the wrong reasons.....be smart.....do what every other smart college does......design uniforms that are attractive to the high school kids you are trying to recruit.....they matter; they'll be the ones that will turn this program around......

Yeah, I really liked the jersey Comet had, even have a helmet like that at my office.
The blue pants don't bother me at all. I think they look sharp, and for a road uni, I think would be cool.

Not sure I agree with you, cause I'm not sure what you're saying. Unless you are saying we shouldn't have changed the unis from the classic national championsip uniforms. Old school uniforms do not deter recruits. Tell that to LSU and Ohio St. and especially Penn St., who haven't changed their unis since Warren Van Buren was president. I agree with DickerJames, there are some things a coach should not be able to touch.
Love the mockups posted by Rayburn. The red helmets of the Hayden Fry era with the shoulder stripes of the Meredith era.
If we don't go back to the classic, Pony Express-era unis, I wouldn't mind something like this. A traditional look, but still new and different.
I DO NOT want to see us go with something addidas has designed to appeal to 14 year olds. Like someone said, it's not like we even try to sell our jerseys. In addition to the bookstore, you can buy a replica jersey on mustanglockerroom that looks even less like the real thing.

I think he's trying to say it's important that the players love what they're wearing since it creates a sense of pride. Recruits will also want something that looks cool, but I don't know if our 80s retro uni's will do that. I think programs like UT, LSU, Penn St. have high visibility which makes any uniform "cool." I will say, when Pete Carroll came to USC he changed the jerseys back to the John McKay era threads. It was a nice change, but no big deal.
GO MUSTANGS!

when you start appealing to the fashion trends of 18-year-olds is when you get the red Jets replica uniforms. I say come up with something catchy yet traditional and stick with it.
If you look at the teams that are adidas, I don't think we have anything to worry about.
