Mustang Mania was a success. It even had a song written about it by Howie Newman. One verse states, "Ford can throw, Tolbert can fly, Coach Meyer knows how and sometimes why. With our kind of line, look out for the backs, And Putt Choate'll stop'em dead in their tracks." It was an upbeat country and western swing featuring some hot fiddle licks throughout. It was also carried, fittingly, by the Mustang label, a production of Major League Records. It was received with tremendous enthusiasm both on and off campus.
sound familiar?

I see a shift. It's different because we are not in a major conference. It feels smaller. What we get on signing day will be a big factor. If we had not landed the prize we got I think the recuiting class would have been a disaster that would have set us further back. Kudos o SO for what he did.

When I was 10 years old or so I had a Mustang Mania belt buckle that was the size of license plate. My mom still has the picture on the wall. I had a pretty sweet outfit on and my haircut made me look like Sir Lancelot (way over the ears).

That is how I remember it.

I've been thinking a little about this. How about suggestions for names for the offense? Something other than "Run & Shoot".

It'll probably be the "Mustang Realty Pony Air Express Passing Attack dot com" offense.
