Just heard the mob boss tell Rich Phillips, that the reported 2 million for JJ is not true. He also said he never offered Paul Johnson the gig.

The same Kate who drew such ridicule for "not covering the story"?

i'll believe anything Orsini says for a while. I see no reason not to
“When I first committed to SMU, I thought it would take a couple of years of building. But with these players coming in, we should make a run. We have a lot of heavy hitters. It could get real ugly for a lot of teams we play.â€- Jalen Jones

So...is SMU getting JJ for less than $2M? If so, W-O-W!

Technically it can easily be true. Perhaps Orsini didn't offer Johnson the gig but did offer it to Johnson's agent. He then has plausible deniability that he didn't offer "Johnson" in person the gig. And the amount probably is based on base plus incentives so the real salary is less than @ million but entire package (cars, house, who knows what) is worth 2 million. All can be technically true and allow all parties involved to go about their business without too many nasty details revealed. And all save face in the process.

"Hey Paul, if my friend asks you to the prom will you accept?"
"What kind of car does he drive...what's for dinner" (etc) - Paul
"Oh, it's a Sewell Village Cadillac, and lots of Bob's Steak and Chop."
"Let me check with My Mom." - Paul
...
"No, my Mom said it wouldn't be a good idea to go out with you." - Paul
"Ok, he wasn't going to ask you anyway."

That's not far off. Blogster posted a link to Johnson's proposal from GT. It laid out the terms, and ended with the following, and I'm paraphrasing here, "If you would accept such an offer if extended, indicate by signing below."
