“We've obviously talked. My position here is the same. I just told him I want to make whatever contribution I can. If he wants me to work with one guy, I'll work with one guy. If he wants me to work with 20 guys, I'll work with 20 guys.â€

Rivals ranked Reinebold, one of the top 20 recruiters in the country in 2006. He was responsible, for signing all but two players in the 2006 class. UH secondary had 4 Texans starting...all of them by JR. UH has comitts from at least 4 Texans right now.....all recruited by JR. Don't be shocked if they follow him to the Hilltop!

good he should know his way around the Texas Junior College Athletic Association(TJCAA) because all those Texans(actually the Top 5 DBs) were from Texas JUCOs.

Congrats on JR! He had a bunch or recruits following him from Hawaii. He really stepped up when JJ was negotiating with SMU, he really looked after the warrior program, I know he will do the same here...I hope this marks a great start to the program - The Mustangs deserve it. GO SMU!

Reinebold leaving UH to join Jones at SMU

Advertiser Staff

Jeff Reinebold

Hawai'i defensive line coach Jeff Reinebold yesterday accepted a job on June Jones' coaching staff at Southern Methodist.

Reinebold said he will depart for Dallas today. For now, his wife and children will keep their rental unit in Waimanalo.

Reinebold is the fourth assistant from last year's UH staff to join SMU, following Dan Morrison, Wes Suan and Dennis McKnight.

Reinebold recruited nearly the entire 2007 UH secondary — safety Jacob Patek, cornerbacks Myron Newberry and Gerard Lewis, and nickelback Ryan Mouton.
