New SMU basketball columnistREMKE'S RIMSHOTS: Fast start requires increased intensity down the stretch
Talented Mustangs have laid foundation for postseason run Posted on 1/23/2008 by Katie Remke Seal PonyFans.com is pleased to have former SMU post Katie Remke Seal join our team as the site's women's basketball analyst. Remke had a very successful playing career with the Mustangs from 1997-2001, during which she climbed to third place in SMU history with 109 blocked shots. Throughout the season, she will weigh in with her insights about the 2007-08 SMU women's basketball team and will call upon her own experiences and knowledge to shed some additional light on the goings-on with this year's team. PonyFans who have questions and comments for Katie can post them on the basketball board or e-mail them to [email protected]. Full story: http://www.ponyfans.com/features/rimshots/
Great stuff! Love these columns by former players.
I admit, I don't know a hell of a lot about the team this year. I go to games, and I cheer. I know Janielle Dodds is tall, and I know Jillian Samuels can shoot a ball farther than I can kick one. But to have a former player  someone who really knows what it takes  to say this team has "it," has what's needed to get to the postseason, that carries a lot more weight. Personally, I'm betting on the WNIT, and I'll go wherever the team plays to watch. But I'm hoping for an NCAA run! Rise up, Mustang Nation!
Go SMU!

Re: New SMU basketball columnist
I was wondering. Wins? Sir, shooting-star, sir.
Frosh 2005 (TEN YEARS AGO!?!) The original Heavy Metal.
OK, it says we can ask questions here:
As a former post player, I'd say you're the world's reigning expert, or at least among local media. Janielle Dodds gets a ton of headlines, and rightly so - she's chasing a bunch of records and awards. What do you think is the best part of her game? Thanks
For those of you who are newer, Katie hit the shot that gave us our last NCAA tournament win, in 2000 against #16 NC State.
