FordtoTolbert wrote:SMU Diamond M..I think it is funny / entertaining / perplexing that we put the only 300 fans we have left on this forum, so they can rip the shreads out of each other on a daily basis...just like the Greeks. It is really the same 27 folks "talking" about the same 12 things. Try to be positive you get ripped, negative replys get stoned, dumb [deleted], dumb [deleted] seem to be the screens names for most...talked to a high school recruits dad from Jackson, MS recently who said they viewed our fan site..he thought it was "mean spirited", unlike most he had seen...Hopefully, JJ will turn the bitterness....Long Live June Jones.
Maybe you could help that recruits dad with how to spell Arkansas, Texas, Ole Miss, and just about any other University (I understand he would have a leg up on spelling SMU). I read the UA board all the time and it makes us look like we are sitting down to Sunday dinner with the Pastor. They have a pay for view and a freebie, both of which were probably more responsible for Nutt's firing than anything that happened on or off the field.
Of course, we could always take the high road like you and only speak hihgly of other board members.

I am a newcomer but I think this site is really great. I enjoy the bantering and have never felt any comments were meant in a mean-spirited or unfriendly way. We are all competitors in everyday life, in business and in sports.
I view us as lost souls in a desert of losing seasons searching for the holy grail of a national championship (well, at least someday). Well all have one objective- make Mustang football a winning proposition. However, our ideas and opinions on how to accomplish this goal vary widely. That is what keeps the board interesting.
GO PONIES, LONG LIVE PERUNA!!!!!

FordtoTolbert- boy, I guess times at SMU have really changed since the 'old days'. I can not imagine anyone at SMU having Obama stickers on their cars. FYI- I am an ultra-conservative WASP so obviously none of my cars have Obama stickers on them. The only stickers on my cars are related to SMU.

I think the Prof's all have Obama stickers on their cars right next to the "Stop Global Warming" sticker and the "Kerry/Edwards" sticker they never bothered to remove.

I guess some things never change. They were probably the same profs that were trying to teach when I was there; exception being the B-school.

I thought SMU was a conservative religious school? Do they have a liberal faculty?

lets just say that we had faculty sign a petition not to have the Bush Library on campus.

I didn't know that there was such a thing as a conservative faculty. I thought that being liberal was one of the main requirements of the job.

While SMU is a religious-based school, it certainly is not conservative a la Liberty University, Baylor, or Brigham Young.
