Man I wish those first two were switched..... Switching to a new offense and coach sure could use a warm-up game.
With our new defensive coordinator (at Tulane last year) and the speed we have recruited on defense I wouldn't be so sure Texas State will be a "warm up" game. Be prepared for a surprise, not saying the Bobcats will win but it won't be the walk in the park that you guys are hoping for.
I can't wait to see SMU kick SWTSU's a*s on Sept. 6th!

I refer to this time of the year as The Great Abyss. It's like the Marianas Trench in the Pacific Ocean...the deepest point on Earth.

that would be a great new tradition... especially for blvd. purposes!

The costumes at that game were awesome.
Or should I say the lack thereof?

Anybody notice we've got a Texas Oklahoma Doubleheader with SMU v. Tulsa played the same weekend as Texas v. OU.

Come on down to Section 104 row 8 (I think). Mustangbill67 and I have room for you to join us and there is still a seat for jtstang.

SMU specifically requests to have an away game or a bye week during the Red River Shootout. They request this every single year. This year, the conference said tough cookies. The University does not intentionally set out to try and schedule a game on Red River weekend.

I've moved a section over this year. If I remember correctly, we're now in 104 row 7. You'll be the one with jt in his lap, I guess?

RGV Pony wrote:Nothing like opening the season on TV in front of 60,000 empty seats. And if Stallion's oft-stated observation of our ineptitude against Rice in Houston holds true, we'll be 0-1 going into the Ralston Dews redemption bowl.
Ralston Dews redemption bowl? Brilliant!
Anyway, I am kind of glad we scheduled Rice early. We should have beaten them the last 2 years, and it royally pisses me off when we lose to them. I would love to see us go down there in the first game of the JJ era and completely roll over them!
And FYI, they no longer have 70k seats in there stadium. They took out the endzone seats to make it a "cozy" 47k now. So instead of 60k empty seats on national TV, it will only be 37k.

Then the folks at the conference are idiots...we played Hawaii here on that weekend, had an early morning start and couldn't have had more than 5k in Ford.
