They haven't announced the time-Shirley they wouldn't schedule it to conflict with Texas/OU. Anyway Tulsa at least makes more sense since some Okies may decide to party in Dallas.

Maybe we can get TV to switch us to a Thursday or a Sunday. At least we would have a better excuse for an empty stadium. It could give some Okie fans a reason to come early or stay longer and watch 2 games over the course of a few days.

I was wondering if anyone else noticed that... wanted to read through the whole thread before posting as such.... and then my question already was answered:

Then the folks at the conference are idiots...we played Hawaii here on that weekend, had an early morning start and couldn't have had more than 5k in Ford.

I just couldn't believe it... I was kind of in a... "wow, that's an odd scheduling quirk" zone.

Hopefully they give us a night game.

It is the same day. And don't call me Shirley!

I know Texas/OU is a big game, but I guess I am a diehard fan that even if it our game was the same time, I would be at Ford, no doubt. Don't get me wrong, it would be absolutely stupid if our game wasn't at night that day.

Houston in late August? How did we draw that short stick? Can we play in the Astrodome or Reliant?

I remember playing a field hockey tournament in early September in Houston back in high school. The humidity was so bad that it was like a hot fog hanging over the field. It was nasty.

I believe the opener against Rice is a 7:00 pm start.
Most of the early games in the season are evening start times to avoid the heat. Afternoon times usually start five to six games into the season.
They also mentioned dates and times could change due to TV.

Blah blah blah you'll all be drunk anyway, so you won't notice the weather.
