Men's Lacrosse vs Tech in PLANOSMU LAX will take on Texas Tech this weekend in PLANO as a part of a day full of lacrosse.
The SMU game will be played in Clarke Stadium, located at Alma and Springcreek (NE corner) at 1PM. The game vs those lubbock kids always proves to be a high scoring, close, PHYSICAL game. Tech has several players from PLANO, so no doubt they have an obnoxious cheering section. I know that Plano will play Kincaid immediately following the SMU game. Plano has a few nasty players that are being recruited to play NCAA lax so it may be worth watching. Set your DVRs to espnU Saturday and check out the opening weekend of D1 Lacrosse. There are great games being played all day there as well (Syracuse, Virginia). It must be springtime!!!
Good luck. Beat the Red Raiders and enjoy the LAX weekend. There should be lots of high school lacrosse players watching the D1 games and the Mustangs. Enjoy.

Beating Tech is a strong statement. Any conference championship games against UT and A&M will determine who goes to Nationals.

Wow. Congrats! ![]()
in conference, the teams to beat are A&M, Texas, Texas Tech, Texas State, and NTSU...Baylor is an in between game. We expect to beat them, but they could surprise anyone in the league with a solid game and upset them...pretty much the other teams are gimme games (OU, OSU, LSU, Tulane, Rice, TCU).
We are required to play our north division opponents every year (alternating home/away)...UNT, Tech, Baylor, TCU, OU, OSU; however, we generally schedule A&M, Texas, and Texas State in order to maintain a challenging schedule. It is also important to play south division opponents to allow your players the opportunity to gain recognition for post season awards... Then we are supposed to schedule at least three out of conference opponents. SMU played Illinois State, Vanderbilt, Kansas so far at home. They will play Minnesota in Waco, and then hit the road to play ole miss, georgia tech and UGA all on the road. I'd say the team this year has had more close games then blow outs...winning by ten goals is more a win then a blow out. Winning by 15-20 goals is a blow out, and yeah that does happen.
That's a random place/team to play. Any reason why Minnesota and more importantly...why Waco? ![]()
A lot of teams from up north will come south to play a few games because of the good weather. Last year we has St. Cloud State, also from minnesota. We agreed to play them in Waco because they made the trip to Texas...they had a game set up with Baylor, and we will spend the 90 minute drive down their to save them the trouble since they already made the trip from minnesota...they are a good team and this will be our first game after spring break. Ultimate trap game.
