Agreed - the throwbacks are fantastic. Hell, even the regular unis are 10x better than the current (former?) football uniforms. I hope that changes soon.

They are playing harding than I'd expected. Free throws were a bit weak, and rebounding's still a problem.

The Mustangs made a better showing against a Top 10 team than the Texas Tech Red Raiders did!!! Hard fought game by the Mustangs. Gotta work on the FTs and the TOs.
The DirecTV broadcast was slanted towards the Tigers but it was still good to see a PACKED Moody Coliseum on TV and congrats to the students for turning out 'en masse'!!!!

Thank you to the Mustang seniors for their dedication to the program. I don't want to drink the kool aid, but maybe they can make a run at the tourney. Thanks again, men.

I loved the large crowd, but was there any noise? None came across on the television. Hopefully it was just the way the sound system was set up, but I was surprised that the nosie level seemed so low. I only heard the band once during a time out.

See that little dial that says 'volume' on your TV set?
Just kidding, mrydel. The noise level did seem a little 'low' for that large of an SMU crowd but there were several times that I heard it louder than I have before. You're probably right about the placement of the microphones.
Interesting comments by the announcers about how C-USA officials are working to reduce the number of home team students/fans from sitting behind the visiting team's bench. One of them said, "That's a recipe for disaster!" and further commented on how he thought it was a stupid idea and he remembered that when he was playing college hoops that it was understood that there were certain venues where that was just part of the game.

The noise level was surprisingly subdued. I guess it was because we never got closer than 10 points most of the game.
It is good to see all the fans. Hopefully, SMU can build a team that will draw this level of interest on it own.
Happy to see some effort from the team after some pretty lethargic showings.
We are 3 years from an NIT. Maybe the tournament in year 4 or 5.

You mean I have to wear glasses AND turn a dial? Old age sucks.

I was sitting in the student section right behind the announcer. What the Assoc. AD said was that in order to decrease the number of students behind the visiting bench, they reserved that section for the Memphis Board, President, etc.
The noise level in the student section was great especially at the beginning at the game. SMU Alums, have you ever seen that many students at a b-ball game, the whole student section and behind the basket? If only, every game could be like that..

I saw large, full student sections at every game when I was there. That is why you need to keep fighting the fight to get people out there. The crowd you saw tonight was the rule rather than the exception in the old SWC days.
