Marshall had a large lead early but Tulane made a late comeback to make the score look closer than it was.

It's all part of my Master Plan. Southern Miss beat Houston this afternoon, so far we're the only team that had a first round bye and won.

Rice is running out of steam now, but that's OK. theypushed UTEP hard, and forced them to play their starters deep into the game

One game at a time. Let's git r done against Marshall. Then we can focus on our next round game. We have to run the table folks to get into the dance. And to do that we have to win each game, one game at a time. The positives are that we have a decent bench and can rest players which helps come Sunday. Let's get past Marshall and then we can focus on Sunday. If we lose to Marshall, Sunday never comes.

I meant to post after the game, but forgot. The ladies played great against Tulsa, and for me the MVP may be a shocker... Brittani Allen! Her 2 three pointers got us out of a huge shooting funk in the first half and really started a run the never ended. Gilliam also had a great game and it was good to see most of our starters getting lots of rest, especially since Marshall played a long, emotional game.

I stayed for this game too, and I have to say that withut Hughes, this would have been a Rice blowout. She scored or had the assist on about 90% of their second half baskets. If she plays like this in the NCAA she could get some All American consideration.
