of those 3 on you tube, only the DB looks like he has much potential. the RB does not pull away from anybody and is too small not to be fast. the DE plays straight up and down and is way too light . . . IMHO

Christian Mathews is a Top QB and the biggest name on the list but he's looking at a lot of schools. Mathews is No. 33 in the LSR Texas Top 100. Prestin Brown is about No. 85 in the LSR Texas Top 100 and the one that right now we might have the best shot at. Seems to know exactly what he looking at academically and is focusing on SMU, Baylor and UT. The Benefield kid ran for about 2,000 yards but isn't Elysian Fields a 1A Team? Christian Mathews is a Top QB and the biggest name on the list but he's looking at a lot of schools. Mathews is No. 33 in the LSR Texas Top 100. Prestin Brown is about No. 85 in the LSR Texas Top 100 and the one that right now we might have the best shot at. Seems to know exactly what he looking at academically and is focusing on SMU, Baylor and UT. The Benefield kid ran for about 2,000 yards but isn't Elysian Fields a 1A Team? EF is 2A...I think it stays 2A next season unlike Tatum.

We have another Poynter that is interested in SMU. Son Michael is a 6'2" 190 lb QB for Arlington Lamar which as most of you know SMU has had an excellent pipeline to (Poynter, Turner, Kennemer, Ellis, Michelson) in recent years. You will not find him in data bases just yet as he did not start for Eddy Peach last year. Coach Peach who will reach 300 wins this year after two wins (never been done at any classification at one school; only one in 5-A no matter the school) almost NEVER starts a junior at QB. Last one I remember is JJ Joe of Baylor fame. Michael is 20-1 coming up the ranks including the Junior team (not JV) last year (A Class 5-A junior team is probably the equivalent of a 1 or 2-A Friday night team).

He will be Lamar's starting QB this fall. He is top 4% of his class; SAT of 1980 (2400) and GPA of 3.94. He has been invited to the Nike Elite 11 Regional Camp in Fort Worth in April. He is cut out of the same mold as Ben and Tommy but he fortunately has his mothers genetics (long and lean). He is second on his team any position in the power clean.

I am hoping we can get SMU out to see him in Spring Ball this year. He has grown up watching the Mustangs; hope someone is "listening"
