Exactly, and it was under construction 10 years ago, so you got to think it would cost closer to $75M today.

Just want to put some perspective between Ford and what TCU and now UH are doing.

Do you think that construction on a stadium like Ford would really only be up 25% since 1998? I would say much higher

PS, I thought the actual cost of FORD was closer to $50M so I estimated a 50% increase, which is still probably on the conservative side.

If TCU is indeed going to spend $210M on AC, that is impressive and will undoubtedly surpass our stadium, even if we enclosed the shoe.

It pains me to say it, but the $$$'s speak for themselves.

Cougar high should have no problem, they can just ask John Moores for another 20 mil or so.

Well, an inflation and constructon cost calculator 30 MM to 52 MM, FWIW.

TCU has spent 20 MM on the endzone project, and a 190 MM plan is underway (half of it already funded, before announcement). We'll basically be raising our stadium.

I read today that a young man in Ft. Worth tried to cash a check he forged for $360 Billion. He was going to start a record business but maybe you could get some money from him.

Froggie ain't spending no 200 million on a stadium project. That is ridiculous. Their entire endowment is just over a billion - they aint going to raise 20% of that for a single building.

AC will NEVER compare to Ford. Ever.

You're right - it won't.

I really don't know but will report back if I can get any actual figures. I don't know that the final plans have even been decided upon so I don't know what the amount will be (or how anyone would estimate the final cost at this point). I'd have to guess it will be north of $100MM (and could be well north of it depending on the extent of the overhaul) when all is said and done but over what time period I'm not sure. It could be $150MM over 8-10 years but I'm purely speculating.

Like I said, they will be razing the entire stadium north of the walkway (i.e. the West and East stands in their entirety). Though the plans are not yet final, this should happen after this season (with the first phase being the removal of the west stands and the second - next season - the east stands). In all, we're looking at anywhere from 145MM to 200MM. Mind you, Jerry World's architect is the lead architect on the AC project.

I'm sorry but I played at TCU and I enjoy the look and feel of an old, historic stadium over a shiny new, symmetrical stadium. Doesn't make one better than the other but I just like the history and tradition of an older stadium and I don't think I'm alone in that regard. Sure the bathrooms suck and the concourses aren't great but I love the look of ACS from the field and I can see why some players would like it also. Just like the Ft Worth v. Dallas arguments, it's a matter of opinion...doesn't make one better or worse - just different strokes for different folks. (You couldn't pay me enough to live in Dallas - or you would have to pay me a whole lot!:)
