Big surprise there. The Big 10, Pac-10 and Rose Bowl will never let a playoff happen.

It would make little sense for the BCS schools to voluntarily give up their monopoly.

blame them all you want but it all starts with Notre Dame.
Once they decide to enter a conference, then the playoff talks might get serious

Well said Samurai!!! That's exactly what it comes down to. And where are our fearless non-bcs-bs administrators leading the charge against this cartel???
Hmmmmmm
What a joke!
BRING BACK THE GLORY DAYS OF SMU FOOTBALL!!!

Perhaps the snobbery of the BCS will awaken the midmajor sleeping giant.

a 4 team playoff is a poor response to the call for change anyways. Deleted.
It tastes better when served from a Bowl (game)!

Until they get to a full blown 8 or 16 team playoff, the mid-major conferences should continue to vote against it. As long as there is chaos in the BCS, it keeps the faint hope of a playoff alive.

The BCS will end when congress ends it. No one likes it, and smaller public owned schools are even more upset with it. It will be gone in a few years.

a 4 team playoff would have been a great addition to college football. you are still keeping the importance of the "regular season" and you are really just adding 1 extra game. wish this idea got more support.

cant say i agree with you on that 4 team playoff. by only allowing 4, youre going to leave out some other top team. if theres 1 undefeated team and 5 one loss teams, then 2 will get left out OR there could be 1 undefeated, 2 one loss teams and more than 1 two loss teams...you get the point. someone gets left out and theres more arguing again.
there will be a day when theres an 8 team playoff: 6 BCS conference winners and 2 at-larges.
