Not true - Nyakundi was a Tubbs recruit. Of course, he also wanted Nyakundi to play in the low post, whereas Coach Doherty picked up on the fact that Nyakundi can shoot from 65 miles away. But still - Tubbs recruit.

What? So Nyakundi committed prior to the spring of 2006, when Tubbs was fired, that's what you're claiming?

wow, Tubbs was an even better recruiter than I thought.... bring in kids even after he was fired. Very impressive.

Show, if you would, any news article, internet posting, or rivals story, that supports this. Because my recollection is that Nyakundi was a late bloomer, and no one was recruiting him until after the summer of 2006. His junior year in high school was actually pretty weak, he didnt come up on anyone's recruiting lists until that summer. So, if you would, please show me an article from spring 2006 or earlier that mentions Nyakundi getting an offer, or giving a verbal to SMU, otherwise I really cant believe this.

Better hurry up and read it, before it gets deleted!

Tubbs said he "had a kid in Arlington" and clarified it by using Nyakundi's name. Maybe he didn't have the official commitment yet, but he was confident he would get it. Whether that's true will never be known.

Why would the thread get deleted? There's no insults, no inappropriate images, no profanity ... no need for it to be deleted, is there?

If everything goes according to plan we should have 5 freshmen (Clarke, Dubois, Haynes, Otis, Nyakundi), 5 sophmores (Dia, Harp, Kwiatkowski, Malone, Walker), 2 juniors (Faye and Williams) and 1 senior (Fall) on the roster. My only question is how does Coach Doherty plan to balance the roster so that we have closer to 3/4 recruits per class? will he kick 1/2 players off each season?

Adding McCoy we now have 6 freshmen, 5 sophmores, 2 juniors and 1 senior. That adds up to 14 so someone is not coming or someone else won't be back.
