Some JUCOs Starting to Show Up on SMU's Recruiting Listaccording to Rivals-perhaps one of the more interesting is QB Terrence Cain from Blinn JC in Brenham. First team all Conference last year with 64 rushes for 164 and 3 TDs and 195 completions on 274 attempts for an impressive 71.2% 2,185 yards 22 TDs 11 interceptions. Apparently, SMU is receiving interest from about 4 Blinn prospects which BTW is coached by the younger Franchione and has been nationaly competitive in recent years.
Might accelerate a turn-around in a year in which we could have a limited number of scholarships to hand out.
JUCO players with some level of interest:
Press Taylor Pro-style quarterback El Dorado (KS) Butler County C.C. Ht: 6-foot-2 Wt: 195 lbs Forty: 4.8 secs Brother of former Nebraska quarterback Zac Taylor. Redshirted in 2006. Seen the T-Shirt? Just send 'da money.
Looks promising....but I would rather keep Bo Levi Mitchell and Justin Willis then the JUCO Quarterback.
Cain would be here for '09 and 10, Willis leaves after the 09 season. -CoS
and have you witnessed Mitchell against D-1 competition? All those who believe in psycho kinesis, raise my hand
I know that he would be here one year after Mitchell, but we also have some good quaterbacks coming in...Also why waste a spot on someone from a JUCO school when you know that QUARTERBACK COACH like June Jones is going to get a TOP guy eventually.
If you are familiar with our recent history with QBs, you would know we can never have too many QBs on the roster.
"It'd be nice to see Jesse Henderson break one here."
