Football - Band at Wildflower

Postby BUS » Sun May 18, 2008 8:47 pm

Is this another GR8 move by the Marketing department.

The Alumni Band played 4 times at the Wildflower Festival this weekend. I met two other MUSTANGS while watching them play.

SMU getting out and being noticed.... in a positive way.

BTW... the band was AWESOME!!

Go Mustangs

Oh, if you have not been to the Wildflower... It is better than ANY THING around these parts.
Check it out next year.

This was not a move by the marketing department. The alumni band arranged this, rehearsed for it and played all on their own and for no compensation.

We did it for the opportunity to perform in the spring. It is a log way from January to August/September without practice. We need to have some spring performance(s) to keep the chops in shape.

Last year we performed at the Sacred Jazz Festival. This year we performed at the Richardson Wildflower Festival.

We are always looking for performing venues between January and September. Maybe someday we will make it to Carnegie Hall or the Meyerson.
Just send 'da money.

Not if you keep complaining about the parking garage. ;)

Well, I am sorry to have given the credit to the Marketing department.

Way to go Alumni Band.

Maybe... just maybe some one will notice
Peace out.

Thanks BUS. It was good to see you at the Wildflower Festival and I agree with what you said. "It sure is good to hear the fightsong somewhere other than on campus".

I am sorry to have jumped on the Marketing Department credit, but there is just this unlying current about the school's support of the band. It just gets under my skin when the credit for something done by the band, alumni band or Diamond M Club goes to the university.
Just send 'da money.

McKinney is having an Arts and Jazz Festival June 7th and 8th in the downtown square.
