Saw a Utah coach at the Flower Mound spring game. Knit shirt was untucked, khakis weren't pressed. I was not impressed. He look bad in comparison to the Tulsa, Baylor and Boise State coaches that were there.

BTW, we did have a coach come to Flower Mound this spring.

the report on Rivals says this kid has only played football for one year-previously played Rugby in Tonga. Said he didn't know much about football. Impressive that a kid could pick up the game in one year-and apparently excell

How impressive do you really have to look when your competition says "son, I want you to come play for me ... but you have to live in Tulsa ... or Waco ... or Idaho..."

With that competition, Utah must look like Florida or Michigan to these kids.

Let's get this kid to our camp, too.

Don't remember but I'm guessing a call from Evan's mother might be skirting NCAA rules...might need to research that one before a call. otherwise a good idea

I wouldn't call him anyway. I'll leave that to the coaches

Impressive indeed. Here's another Tongan kid that only played football one year but was a rugby player in Tonga. Great stuff.

If you got Rivals check out his video. He has impressive athletic potential-but this kid hasn't even scratched the surface of his potential since he has only played football for a year. Doesn't know the first thing what to do with his hands-and has no technique-doesn't understand leverage yet-just tries to run right through the offensive lineman on every play. He can get a lot better with some proper coaching. But the talent is there.

NEW UPDATE: Quoted by Rivals that his favorites are Nebraska, Louisville and Fresno and he has other offers are from SMU, UNLV, Utah. Disappointing-we could really use this guy. Whose going to teach the HAKA.

Funny you should mention that. When some SMU coaches went over to Trinity, a group of players broke into the Haka. Word is Coach McKnight and Coach Jones were really blown away.
