Few realize that Cy Barcus invented the Hawaiian shirt, or at least popularized it. Who would have thought they are actually Texan shirts?
Cy Barcus the builder?

Listened to "Shanty Town" from the alumni band on youtube:

I really like it and tried to decipher the lyrics.
This is what I came up with but not sure about "Shiner's Beer":
There's a shanty in the town
On a little plot of ground
Where the green grass grows all around, all around.
The roof's not worn,
or badly torn,
or tumbles to the ground.
Cause it's a real cool place
And it's built way back
about 25 feet from the Hillcrest track,
It lingers on my mind
Most all the time,
Keeps calling me back
To my little grass shack.
I'm feel just as sassy
As a mustang lassie:
If I were a king,
'Twouldn't mean a thing,
with my boots so tall,
And the writing on the wall,
And it wouldn't mean a thing,
Not a goddam thing.
There's a queen waiting there
with a "Shiner's beer",
just Blowing her top for me to get there.
A-looking all around
And a-rocking with sound,
Cause I gotta get back to my Mustang town!
Please correct as needed.

It's a great song.
When you come to a game, stay after to hear a short concert by the band, followed by Shanty/Varsity/Home, the band's traditional sign-off.
Shanty/Varsity/Home:
1) The band plays/sings Shanty Town
2) The band sings Varsity
3) The band yells "Beat the Hell out of (next opponent here)" then plays Peruna
4) The band plays the Waring Ending
Even when we lose, it's a great way to end the day (much better after a win, though).

Win or lose, I usually don't have a voice with which to sing...I would bet you don't either.

Exactly. I almost had hit "submit" before I remembered to put in Waring Ending.
