In order for Jerry Jones to attract a Super Bowl to his new stadium he has to provide opposing teams separate indoor practice facilities. Other than the Cowboys, the closest other facility is TCU's. Now this is old news and probably worthless, but in the days of Phil Bennett, he alluded to the possibilities of the Cowboys helping SMU build such a facility.

what do we need the cowboys help for?...the plain and simple problem is rel estate...i suppose if they felt like it they could put a dome like they have at UT over our practice field.

Jerry has already been awarded the 2011 Super Bowl, so if what you say is true he must have already made accomodations.
We are land locked and need to expand our campus, so we put the equestrian track next door to the University Park property we need to acquire. After a few months of horse oders, the property value drops and we acquire the discounted property.
I agree with you about Glencoe Park. Perhaps a good idea.
That's UCLA's ballpark to the core. It's located right off campus across from the San Diego Fwy (405) - maybe 5 minutes or so. I believe it's an upgraded city park - which by the way, needs further upgrading for sure & fast, but it works & they have pretty-good crowds for the LA area.
I heard last Spring that SO had been involved in discussions with private parties and the City of Dallas concerning building a minor league baseball park in downtown Dallas, that would be shared by SMU. Do not know if these discussions are on-going.
As to Wescott, there is a fund raising drive in place to make it a first class college soccer stadium. Do not know how successful it has been but they got my money.
